Weight Management

“Weight management is more than chasing a goal number on the scale. It’s about metabolic health, muscle, hormones, and habits — and making changes you can actually live with.

At Health Outside the Box, we look at the full picture: nutrition, movement, stress, sleep, medications, and underlying conditions. No shaming. No fad rules. Just clear, realistic plans.”

What We Help With

  • Difficulty losing weight or keeping it off

  • Weight gain around the midsection

  • “I hit a plateau and nothing is working”

  • Managing weight while dealing with PCOS, thyroid issues, or perimenopause

  • Support before, during, or after GLP-1 or other weight-loss medications

  • Muscle loss, “skinny fat,” or poor body composition despite a normal BMI

  • Preventive weight management with strong family history of diabetes or heart disease

My Approach to Weight Management

We focus on:

  • Root causes. Hormones, meds, sleep, stress, and health history all matter.

  • Nutrition you can sustain. We build a framework that works with your culture, schedule, and cravings — not against them.

  • Muscle and metabolism. We prioritize protein, strength, and preserving lean mass so you don’t just become a smaller, weaker version of yourself.

  • Medication as a tool, not a band-aid. When appropriate, we can discuss evidence-based options (including GLP-1–based therapies), with a plan for monitoring and long-term strategy — not “forever meds with no exit plan.”

  • Follow-up and adjustment. We review what’s actually happening in your real life and adjust the plan instead of blaming you when things aren’t perfect.

What a Weight Management Visit Looks Like

During a telehealth visit, we’ll:

  • Review your medical history, medications, labs, dieting history, and current habits

  • Clarify your goals: fat loss, weight maintenance, muscle gain, metabolic health, or a mix

  • Identify barriers: time, stress, emotional eating, shift work, caregiving, etc.

  • Build a stepwise plan, which may include:

    • Calorie and macro targets appropriate for you

    • Practical meal structure and snack options

    • Movement recommendations based on your current level

    • Lab work if needed (A1c, lipids, thyroid, etc.)

    • Discussion of prescription options if clinically appropriate
